A federal lawmaker elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Anthony Adepoju has said he resolved to work with President Bola Tinubu to ensure growth and development of the country.

The lawmaker representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North, Oyo state, at the House of Representatives made the remark while speaking on Kaftan TV on Tuesday.

According to him, though the president was elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, he needs the support of all Nigerians to succeed.

Kogi PDP youth leader resigns

Another member of the State Working Committee of the Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Stephen Onoji has resigned his membership of the party.

Until his resignation, Onoji was the Kogi State PDP Youth Leader.

In a letter addressed to his Ward Chairman, Odolu Ward 6, Odolu, in Igalamela Odolu LGA, dated Wednesday July, 19th, 2023, and made available to DAILY POST, Onoji appreciated the party for the opportunity and privileges while he served as member of the Party.

Ganduje didn’t take N10bn loan for CCTV cameras – Ex-commissioner

A former Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mallam Muhammad Garba, has described as misleading and errorneous claim that former governor Abdullahi Ganduje obtained N10bn loan for the installation of Close-Circuit Television cameras in Kano State.

The former commissioner was reacting to the Coalition of Political Analysis Forum and Governance, which reportedly made the claim.

Garba knocked the CSO for demanding Ganduje’s probe, saying the claim by the group was an attempt to discredit the ex-governor.

Imo CP confirms monarch’s murder, warns sit-at-home enforcers to desist

Imo State Police Commissioner (CP), Mohammed Ahmed Barde, has confirmed killing of the traditional ruler of Ezuhu-Nguru Nweke Autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise Council of the state, on Monday.

Gunmen had invaded the palace of Eze James Nnamdi (Durujiaku Mmirioma) in a Toyota Sienna van, shooting him multiple times. He died in a hospital, where he was receiving treatment.

Arewa youths condemn increase in fuel pump price

The Arewa Youth Forum, AYF, has condemned in strong terms the increase in pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, popularly known as petrol.

In a statement issued by its National President, Ahmed Mohammed Zagi and made available to DAILY POST, the group said it received with shock the increase in price of petrol to over N600.

The youths noted that the N8,000 monthly stipend to some families in the country, although a welcome development, was far inadequate and should be reviewed upwards, looking at the skyrocketing cost of goods and services in the country.
