Ministerial Appointees: What Tinubu Gave To S/West Is Like Having Oduduwa Republic- Dr. Mahdi Shehu

Dr. Mahdi Shehu, a Political Activist, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu’s recent appointments in the South West are reminiscent of creating an Oduduwa republic. He explained during an interview with Arise TV news that he sees little distinction between President Tinubu and Buhari. According to him, the South West region now holds significant influence across various sectors due to these new ministerial appointments.

He believes that President Tinubu’s appointments are quite similar to what President Buhari has done in the past. Imagine if you had a puzzle and two pieces fit together perfectly; that’s how he feels about these appointments. The South West now has a lot of important roles, like the person in charge of the CBN (which is like the bank of the country), and many other roles in banking, finance, and the economy. It’s like they’ve been given a lot of important keys.

Dr. Shehu gives a few examples. He talks about banks, money-related places, and even the ministry that handles the country’s finances. He says almost everything from the sea (marine) to power, transportation, and even the oil business is affected. He adds that President Tinubu also has a role similar to being the boss of the oil business and even the overall President of the country. He thinks that these appointments have made the South West region very powerful, almost like creating a new Oduduwa republic. This is all because he feels President Buhari and President Tinubu are not paying enough attention to the feelings of the people.

Hear him: ”There is no difference between Buhari and Tinubu and we are going to say it very clearly now. For example, look at what goes to the South West. Number one is the CBN but cause Emefiele is under charge now, they will never appoint another CBN governor. And this guy acting as the CBN governor is from the South West. All Commercial Banks, all Financial institutions, 90% of Micro Finance Banks, the Ministry of Finance, and coordinating minister of the economy, marine and blue economy power, transport, and Petroleum. In addition to being the Senior Minister of Petroleum and in addition to being the President. Now if you have a mental picture of what Tinubu gave to the South West, it’s like having Oduduwa republic in the making.”
