Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Welcomes Four Woman Rescued From Kidnappers after 7 Months

The Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, on Thursday, received four women rescued from kidnappers after seven months in their abductors’ detention.

According to Punch, the women had featured in a video clip lasting two minutes and 19 seconds, which the terrorists had released a few weeks back, appealing to the governor for assistance in securing their rescue.

They were abducted seven months ago on the Kaura Namoda – Birnin Magaji Road.

According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the rescued women were welcomed at the Council Chambers of the Government House in Gusau.

He observed that the government had been concerned ever since the video clip was released, prompting a rapid response that resulted in their liberation.

Lawal, upon receiving the rescued individuals, conveyed gratitude to God for enabling the women’s freedom.

The governor additionally emphasized that the rescued women would be seamlessly reintegrated into society, with their needs being adequately catered for.

He stated, “In my capacity as the Chief Executive of Zamfara State, I want to convey my sincerest thanks to Allah for the release of these women who were abducted around seven months ago.

“This undeniably brings immense joy to both the government and the families of the victims.”
