The Sacrifices For A Better Nigeria Must Now Start From Us, The leaders And The Well-placed – Obi

In a recent statement, former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, emphasized the need for sacrifices from leaders and well-placed individuals to bring about positive change in Nigeria. Obi expressed his concerns about the prevailing state of insecurity, violence, and bloodshed in the country, stating that it was time for everyone to reflect on the situation.

He said in part: ”I have already said that the sacrifices for a better Nigeria must now start from us, the leaders and the well-placed. The state of our nation must give us cause to pause and ponder. There is far too much insecurity, violence, and bloodshed.”

As Obi’s 62nd birthday approaches on July 19, he made it clear that he would not be celebrating amidst the current deplorable state of the nation. While he acknowledged the birthday wishes and requests from friends, party members, and supporters, he urged them to redirect their efforts toward helping those in need.

Obi called on individuals who wished to celebrate him to extend their generosity to hospitals, orphanages, homes for the aged, and people with disabilities. He also encouraged them to visit schools in remote areas and support them with essential resources. Additionally, he suggested offering assistance to various Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across the country.

Highlighting his personal commitment to making a difference, Obi shared his plans to allocate his time and resources to support those less fortunate. Furthermore, he expressed his intention to raise funds for schools, hospitals, and other institutions in need.

Reiterating his belief that the sacrifices for a better Nigeria must start with leaders and the well-placed, Obi stressed the urgency of addressing the nation’s challenges. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to tackle insecurity, violence, and bloodshed.
