Nigerian lawyer Daniel Bwala has asserted that President Bola Tinubu, not FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, holds the real authority over the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). During an interview with Channels TV news, Bwala criticized some of the statements made by Wike in his opening speech, stating that they fail to address the primary issues facing the FCT.

According to Daniel Bwala: ”You have a governor who comes into a ministry but comes with the mentality that he’s still a governor. And secondly there is a 48 law of power, you can’t outshine your master, Tinubu is the captain in Abuja and not the FCT minister.

Bwala expressed his concern that if precautions aren’t taken, Wike’s tenure might be short-lived, predicting it might not even extend beyond six months. He proceeded to explain his reasoning, citing that Wike’s focus on certain matters may overlook the fundamental necessities of FCT residents, particularly healthcare and hospital facilities. Bwala emphasized that even some of the prominent hospitals in the region lack adequate resources.
