Breaking News: Omisore Resigns as National Secretary Amid APC Crisis

The national secretary of the ruling APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has resigned.

According to the Punch report, Senator Omisore’s resignation follows that of National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu on Sunday night.

The party’s deputy national organization secretary, Nsu Chidi Duru, had earlier confirmed Adamu’s resignation.

The development occurred as a meeting of the National Working Committee NWC was underway at the party’s Buhari House National Secretariat.

The meeting, presided over by Deputy National Vice Chairman Abubakar Kari (North), was reportedly closed to the party’s national secretary, Iyiola Omisore, and the parking lot was also occupied by the vice chairman.

According to Punch, Omisore, who left the secretariat as soon as he entered, said he had intended to meet Adamu, adding that he did not know why the former Nasarawa State governor was not at the secretariat.

Mr. Duru also said that NWC members had expected Mr. Omisore to resign.
