'We Were Living In Deceit With Emefiele As CBN Governor, Tinubu Is Opening Our Eyes' – Ayodele Fayose

Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, has accused Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), of being a terrible leader who is to blame for Nigeria’s current economic problems.

In a TVC interview, Fayose claimed that President Bola Tinubu is exposing the dishonest actions that took place when Emefiele was in charge of the CBN. He attacked Emefiele in particular for failing to stabilize the naira, noting that several exchange rates had made the currency weaker.

Fayose asserts that Tinubu’s new measures are intended to bring the naira back to normal and give it more value. There are two official exchange rates: 413 and 420 dollars, and a third exists on the illicit market, he said. Combining these has led to the issue of rising dollars, and it takes time for them to stabilize. Emefiele was the governor of the CBN when we were living in deception, but Tinubu is bringing the truth to light.

Fayose, who compared the current economic turbulence to an airplane having rough patches in mid-flight before leveling out, expressed faith that things will get better in due course. “Things will eventually return to normal; everything must first go wrong before it can go well. Turbulence on a flight does not necessarily indicate that the aircraft will crash. Yes, it does get better after a while, he said.
