Popular social activist and actor, Debo Adebayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has asked Nigerians to stop ‘twerking’ for politicians but free themselves from political slavery

The thespian said that those who choose to be loyal to politicians as against the country itself are the most unpatriotic Nigerians.

He advised that people should only commend politicians when they do well but call them out when they do wrong.

He stated this his Twitter account on Saturday.

He wrote, “Some of us have since emancipated ourselves and are fully aware that politicians are not doing the people any favours by holding public office.

Instead, it is the politicians that are so favoured and privileged to serve the people.

Former lawmaker, Daniel Bwala, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the case of the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

Bwala is of the view that Bawa’s offence did not involve an attempt to overthrow the government.

In a post on his verified social media platform on Sunday, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain lamented about the pattern of arresting, detaining and humiliating the anti-graft boss.

He wrote, “I appeal to Mr President to intervene in the case involving Abdulrasheed Bwala, the EFCC Chair. Whatever he is being investigated, I believe non (sic) involves attempt to over throw the government. This pattern of arresting, detaining and humiliating Anti-graft boss whilst the suspects become ministers and lawmakers will eventually kill the very institution of the EFCC.”
