We Have Never Had It So Bad In The History Of Kogi State, Our People Were Impoverished – Dino Melaye

The 2023 Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye has stated that the PDP will wrest power from the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming election.

Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party will slug it out with the standard flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, Ahmed Ododo and other strong contenders in the race.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has slated 11th of November, 2023 as the date for the Kogi State Governorship election. Gubernatorial poll will also hold in Imo and Bayelsa states in the same day.

The Daily Trust paper reported that Senator Dino Melaye, while addressing journalists after a meeting of Kogi PDP stakeholders from the three Senatorial zones of the state, with the members of the National Working Committee (NWC) said; “the meeting had adopted a strategy to wrest power from APC in the state.”

He added; “They should not be Intimidated by the threat, violence, the humiliation by the APC, it should not deter them from exercising their Democratic rights. I want to assure you that we will protect our people.”

The former federal lawmaker stated further; “We have never had it so bad in the history of Kogi State. Our people were impoverished, salaries have not been paid, pension have not been paid, gratuity has not been paid, the health sector is non existent, in fact all the General Hospitals in the state are mere consulting clinics.”
