The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has told President Bola Tinubu that Nigeria is happy with him over the bold and courageous decisions he has taken so far.

Tinubu had removed fuel subsidy and floated Naira, among other key decisions. Many Nigerians have lamented widespread hardships due to the hike in petrol price, but the President had assured the public that suffering was temporary.

Speaking on Thursday at the 12th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the APC where former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and Senator Basiru Ajibola emerged as the new National Chairman and National Secretary respectively, the party’s Acting National Chairman, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, commended Tinubu’s decisions.

Kyari, who was recently nominated as a minister, congratulated the President, the Vice President and all elected party members on their election victory, describing the recent election of the Nigerian leader to the ECOWAS Chairmanship as a foreign policy triumph for Nigeria.

Canada has extended invitation to skilled workers, including carpenters, plumbers and welders from Nigeria and a few other countries, further escalating the ‘japa’ syndrome.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), in a recent statement, said the North American country has opened a immigration pathway for skilled workers with specific expertise in carpentry, plumbing and welding.

Canadian authorities said the country targets to meet the increasing demand for talent and crucial positions that contribute to its economic growth and development, hence, giving a priority to the invitation of skilled newcomers with experience in trades.

Speaking about the new form of Immigration, lawyers at First Immigration Law Firm based in Canada, said there are different ways for professionals and workers to qualify for a Canada immigration permanent resident visa.

President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, said he believed strongly that the election that brought him into office was the most credible in the country’s political history. Tinubu stated this at a meeting with members of his governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja to officially ratify former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as National Chairman of the party.

The president told the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting that the party and government must find a way to satisfy the yearnings of the people. He said it was important that the policies being implemented by his administration worked for Nigerians, and not punish them.

The NEC meeting approved the choice of Ganduje as APC national chairman, and Senator Ajibola Basiru, from Osun State, as national secretary. The duo replaced Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore, who recently resigned as national chairman and national secretary, respectively.

The APC NEC, at its meeting, rubbished the election report by the European Union (EU) monitoring team. APC said an organisation, whose identity and address it did not know, had resorted to campaign of calumny and incitement of Nigerians against the party and government, forcing the party to pass a vote of confidence in the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
