Reactions After A PDP Senatorial Candidate Said The 2 Million Given To Senators Is Not A Big Deal

A couple of days ago, during one of the plenary the Nigerian Senate, the Senate President Akpabio was heard in the video telling members of the upper legislative chamber that an undisclosed amount of money had been sent to each of them to use to enjoy their holidays. And according to a report from SaharaReporters, the money received by the Senators was two million naira each. 

Reacting to that, a Senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for Ogun Central (2023), David O Aderinokun, in a tweet said the money is not a big deal for Senators. The tweet reads; 

The 2m that was given to senators isn’t a big deal. It is even too small for a senator. What can a family man do with 2m Naira($2k). Why are we making it a big deal. But they shouldn’t have made it public. Making it public is a bit insensitive to plight of Nigerians.
