Tinubu Didn’t Deceive Nigerians – Ganduje

The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has pleaded with Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu, saying his decision to remove the petroleum subsidy was not an attempt to play the masses.

The APC chairman appealed when the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (retd) led a delegation of directors and secretaries of the dissolved APC presidential campaign Council on a solidarity visit to the national secretariat in Abuja.

He said, “President Bola Tinubu was honest to Nigerians. He did not play a game with the removal of the subsidy. He was very honest, even in his efforts to provide a solution to the effect of the subsidy removal.

“It came to the point that everybody was suffering. The removal of subsidies, no doubt, is a welcome development. And you know, he didn’t want to deceive people even during the electioneering process. Before he was voted in, he said he would remove it. So he was honest. And now it has been removed. But of course, there are some pains.

Helicopter crash: Obi commiserates with NAF, victims’ families

The Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has commiserated with the Nigerian Air Force on the recent crash of MI-171 helicopter which claimed some soldiers’ lives.

Obi described the incident as unfortunate, saying, it saddened him.

In a statement on his social media platform on Thursday, he said his heart is with the families of the soldiers who lost their lives in the incident.

The former governor of Anambra State also lamented the level of insecurity in most parts of the country.

He said it had continued to embarrass and cost the nation precious lives and property, with the attendant economic costs.

He, however, called for a full-scale investigation to unravel the cause of the crash to prevent future occurrences,urging NAF and other security agencies not to be dispirited over the challenges.

Subsidy removal: No instant solution to Nigeria’s problems – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has said that the solution to Nigeria’s problem cannot be like instant coffee, noting that what the country is going through is like the pain of birth but after it will come merriment.

Speaking at the public presentation of “Brutally Frank,” the autobiography of elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, in Abuja on Thursday, he affirmed that the country is going through a difficult stage, but assured that the problems will be surmounted.

Tinubu pointed out that the federal government has started to provide palliatives such as the distribution of grains and provision of mass transit buses.

Education our foremost tool against poverty – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu says education is Nigeria’s foremost tool against poverty.

Tinubu also noted that his administration remained determined to embrace the prospects of digital economy and telecommunications which he described as “the future.”

According to a statement made available to our correspondent on Thursday in Abuja, Tinubu, who received a delegation from global tech giant, Google, said his administration would leverage digital technology to create Nigeria’s desired socio-economic progress that is necessary to transform society.

“We are here to shape our tomorrow, today, and I’m going to do it. Our youths represent over 65% of the yearning development age in Nigeria.

“We take education very seriously, and that is the foremost tool we have against poverty.

“The digital economy and telecommunications represent the future, and we are determined to promote it.

“Your partnership with us to make it a serious development in our economic programme is what is desirable. Our youths have the skills, they are brilliant, and they are good people,” Tinubu further stated.
