Tribunal: Osinbajo Congratulates Tinubu, Shettima

Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima on their victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which affirmed the All Progressives Congress winner as the Presidential Election of February 25, 2023.

The PEPC had on Wednesday delivered a 12-hour judgment on the appeals arising from the presidential election, upholding the election of President Bola Tinubu.

Atiku and Obi had rejected the court’s judgment, vowing to approach the Supreme Court.

In a statement on Saturday his verified Facebook account, Osinbajo stated that the PEPC ruling was a great victory for Nigeria’s constitutional democracy and the rule of law.

Yahoo: 41 suspected internet fraudsters arrested in Delta

Forty one, 41, suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested in Warri, Delta State.

The suspects were identified as Jackson Shebenor, Good Gospower, Akiefa Desmond, Johnson Ogheneuwegba, Okonta Williams, Ochuko Godfrey, Marvelous Oghogho Ekpuke, Ofoluwa Sheriff, Eyengho Richard, Daniel Avwerosuo Iniovorhire, Favour Ighoatudu, Stanley David, Gospower Jeremiah, Hurock Miracle, Onaiwu Gideon, Apare Tamarakuru, Ogribi George and Napoleon Efe Miracle.

Others are: Jephthah Godbless, Isiorho Desmond and Ochuko Prosper, Akpevwe Edogbegi, Felis Emmanuel, John Benjamin, Chukwuyenum Kenneth, Ejaita Victory, Felix Wada, Ufuoma Ododolor, Blessing Gbekena, Edo Othuke and Irikete Prosper.

Also included on the list are: Joshua Ngerem, Efejayobor Ochuko, Eke Kelechi Destiny, Idise Raymond Chuks, Enitomi Patrick, Efetobore Prosper Eghegha, Toise Raymond Chuks and ogheneome Udovi.

Eight exotic cars, phones and laptops were recovered from the suspects.

The anti-graft agency added that the suspects have made useful statements and will soon be charged to court.

We will prevent Nigerians from sliding into poverty – FG

The Federal Government, on Friday, said its target is not just to eradicate poverty, but to also prevent Nigerians from sliding into poverty.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alletion, Dr Betta Edu, disclosed this in Maiduguri, Borno State, during a two-day working visit to the state, according to a statement issued in Abuja by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Rasheed Zubair.

The minister, who was received by the Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, said the President, Bola Tinubu, had vowed to minimize humanitarian crisis and eliminate poverty in Nigeria, as this was in fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2.

She informed the governor that the Federal Government was committed to returning Nigerian refugees and migrants to their various homes by 2024.

G-20’ll Remain incomplete without Nigeria, Tinubu tells world leaders

President Bola Tinubu on Saturday told the G-20 leaders that Nigeria’s strategic importance as Africa’s largest economy and democracy makes it capable of playing a major role within the bloc and contributing to shaping a more equitable world.

“Nigeria is poised, able, and willing to be a major player in this family of the G-20 and in shaping a new world, without whom, the family will remain incomplete,” Tinubu said when he addressed world leaders at the 18th G-20 Leaders’ Summit holding in New Delhi, India.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement he signed on Saturday titled ‘President Tinubu to G-20 leaders: As Africa’s largest market, economy and democracy, Nigeria is ready to play vital role in G-20.’

While acknowledging the vital role of the G-20 in shaping a rules-based world order that promotes shared prosperity and security, Tinubu argued that most of today’s pressing issues are “international in character and cannot be addressed without multilateral cooperation.”
