PDP Wins All 18 LGAs In Edo Council Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won in all 18 Local Government Areas in the Edo State local government election held on Saturday, according to results released by the state independent electoral commission.

The election was held in all the 18 local government areas of the state covering Edo North, Edo Central and Edo South senatorial districts.

Apart from the PDP, other major political parties that participated in the election for Chairmanship and Councillorship of all the wards include the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP).

SERAP Sues Tinubu

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against President Bola Tinubu over the unlawful ban and withdrawal of the accreditations of 25 journalists and media houses from covering the Presidential Villa.

According to reports, the Federal Government recently withdrew the accreditations of some 25 journalists from covering activities at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The affected journalists were simply told at the main gate of the Presidential Villa to submit their accreditation tags.

Road Accident Claims Six In Osun – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun State Command, said six persons lost their lives in an accident that occurred on the Imesi-Ile highway in the state.

The Sector Commander, Henry Benamesia, said this in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi, on Sunday in Osogbo.

Benamesia said two vehicles had a head-on collision on Saturday at about 9: 44 p.m. due to brake failure of one of them, resulting in the death of six persons.

Apparently perturbed by the increasing economic hardship associated with removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government and its attendant high prices of commodities, member representing Jere federal constituency in Borno state, Hon Ahmed Satomi has contracted 15 filling stations in Jere local government and Maiduguri metropolis to sell Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), a.k.a Petrol at the cost of N430 only per litre as his personal palliatives.

Recall that the current official price of petrol is sold between N630 to N637 per litre which have caused motorists and passengers huge economic burden for survival.
