It's Not Only Nigerians That Have Eyes On Judiciary, Foreign Witnesses Is Also Looking-Igho Akeregha

Veteran journalist and public affairs analyst Igho Akaregha has questioned the reasoning behind the Federal Government’s request to have all billboards featuring the ‘All Eyes On The Judiciary’ advertisements removed throughout the nation amid the current public outcry.

Akeregha, a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, made the following argument during an interview on Wednesday’s episode of ‘Kaakaki’ of Africa Independent Television: “Removing the billboards does not take away the fact that not only are Nigerians watching the judiciary in anticipation of its ruling on the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, but the international community is also keeping their eyes on the court.”

What are they frightened of, he said, if someone pays for an advertisement that reads, “Eyes On The Judiciary,” and you take it down? In fact, I came across a video that was going viral on social media of a young guy standing where the billboard used to be and carrying a flag with the same message.

And it is true that not only Nigerians are keeping an eye on the court; the international world is also waiting to see what the judiciary will rule on the election. Since the elections were deemed defective by international observers like the European Union and the African Union, you must keep this in mind.
