The situation in Kogi is so bad that directors in some LGA earn salaries less than ₦20k – Kola Ologbondiyan

Former national publicity secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan has said the situation of things in Kogi State is in a horrible state. Ologbondiyan who said the PDP made the right choice in Senator Dino Melaye as the party’s governorship candidate for the November 11 election, added that directors in some local government in the state earn salaries less than ₦20,000.

Speaking on Political Paradigm, a programme on Channels TV, he said,

“I’m completely convinced that the PDP made the right choice in Senator Dino Melaye. And I know as a fact that the majority of the ordinary people in Kogi State believe that they need a rescuer at this moment because the situation is horribly bad. So much that directors in the local government service are earning salaries less than ₦20,000. You know that is my home state and we are a civil service state. We don’t have industries except the Obajana cement which doesn’t belong to the government. And the economy of the state is run from money that comes from the public service. We have a situation where pensioners don’t get their pension. We have a situation where salaries are paid in percentages. It’s in a horrible state.”
