Oba of Benin visits Tinubu in Aso Rock

His Royal Majesty Omon’Oba N’Edo Uku’Akpolokpolo Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House on Friday.

The reason for the meeting is unclear, but it is believed that the visit was to formally congratulate Tinubu on his inauguration as president and to discuss issues related to the Nigerian people, Channels TV reports.

NAF aircraft crashes in Benue

A fighter jet belonging to the Nigerian Air Force on Friday crashed in Makurdi, Benue State capital, The PUNCH has learnt.

Details about the incident are still sketchy as of the time of filing this report.

A military source said two personnel of the Nigerian Air Force onboard ejected unhurt.

The source said, “An FT7-NI aircraft crashed today in Makurdi. The cause of the crash could not be immediately ascertained. It had two Airmen onboard. They ejected unhurt from the jet.

Man lynched to death in Bayelsa not UI graduate

The Police in Bayelsa State arrested three suspects for allegedly taking part in the lynching.

The police spokesperson in Bayelsa, Asinim Butswat gave the names of the suspects as: Preye Mathew, 50; Theophilus Tiro, 28; and Famous Precious, 22.

Butswat said the three were arrested on 9 July at about 5p.m. at Tombia-Amassoma Road, after a mob lynched the suspect.

Tinubu for mid-year coordination meeting in Nairobi

His Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, Dele Alake, announced this on Friday, in a statement at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The statement said as the Chairperson of ECOWAS, the Nigerian leader will join Heads of State and Government, Foreign Ministers of the AU Member-States, and high-level dignitaries at the mid-year meeting which will take place on Sunday, July 16.

According to the statement, President Tinubu, who would be returning to Abuja after the event, will be accompanied to Nairobi by senior government officials.

Ebonyi Govt Increases Workers’ Salary By N10,000

The Ebonyi State Government yesterday announced an increment in Worker’s Salary by N10,000 across board to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy recently announced by President Bola Tinubu.

Briefing Journalists shortly after the State Executive Council meeting at the New Executive Council Chambers, Government House Abakaliki, the State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Mr. Jude Okpor said that the State Governor, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru has mandated the policy be implemented immediately.
