'Philip Shaibu's father adopted Adams Oshiomhole in Kaduna when he was just 15 Years Old' -Don Pedro Obaseki

Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki, a prominent member of the PDP, has claimed that Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State, is actually the elder brother of the current deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu. In an interview with Arise Tv news, Dr. Obaseki revealed that Philip Shaibu’s father adopted Oshiomhole when he was 15 years old in Kaduna State. He further stated that influential figures in Edo State are opposed to Philip Shaibu running in the 2024 election, citing the principles of equity and fairness.

He said, ”Philips wants to run and the forces within the state are against his running, that is a statement of fact. Edo State has three Senatorial districts, the immediate past governor, Aliyu Adams Oshiomhole is from Iyamho in Etsako West Local Government in Edo North Senatorial district. Officially, Adams Oshiomhole is the Son of Philip’s father.

Philip Shaibu’s father adopted Adams Oshiomhole in Kaduna when he was just 15 years old. So Philip and Adams are brothers on paper. And so when he [Philip Shaibu’s father died] in 2015, there was a state burial for Oshiomhole’s father. I think that should be taken into cognizance.”
