According to Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the spokesperson for the Labour Party’s presidential campaign council, there is pressure on Peter Obi to withdraw his petition at the presidential election court. Dr. Tanko did not specify who is putting this pressure on Mr. Obi, or why they are trying to convince him to withdraw the petition.
It is worth mentioning that both Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar filed petitions at the election tribunal challenging the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed in the last election. These petitions seek to have the election results nullified.
Dr. Tanko, in an interview with Central TV Africa, stated that Peter Obi remains committed to pursuing his case in court until it resolves.
According to Dr. Tanko, Peter Obi is determined to see the case through to the end, and will not give in to any pressure or tricks.
Hear him “I want to assure everyone that Peter Obi is a true Democrat who will follow the rules and regulations of the law. He is currently in court, and he is ready to follow all the legal processes. I understand that he is under immense pressure to withdraw his case, but he remains committed to pursuing it.”
