I became the enemy of the entire Igbo–David Umahi Opens Up On What Happened After He Defected To APC

Dave Umahi, the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State and the current Minister of Works, has disclosed what transpired when he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress a few years ago.

According to the Daily Post paper, Dave Umahi remarked during his visit to Gov. Francis Nwifuru as part of his tour of the state to examine federal roads, “I asked if you could facilitate the process, and you did, and it is currently working.” Not every governor would want his subject to flourish, but I want to promise you that you will be completely satisfied.”

The All Progressives Congress Chieftain went on to say, “President Tinubu does not like division, and rest assured that you are not competing for the party’s leadership with anyone.”

“That decision (to leave the PDP) nearly took my life; my properties were burned, and I became the enemy of the entire Igbo,” the new Minister of Works of the Federal Republic of Nigeria stated. So help the governor expand the party throughout the state and the Southeast zone.”

However, the recent comment by Dave Umahi, which was published by The Daily Post paper on its verified Facebook page, elicited a wide range of reactions from Nigerians on the social media platform.
