25% in FCT is compulsory, neither Atiku nor Tinubu had it; they fell short of the requirement-Momodu

Dele Momodu, Nigerian journalist and PDP chieftain, said that 25 percent in FCT is compulsory to become the President of Nigeria, and that on that basis, both Atiku and Tinubu fell short of that requirement.

Dele Momodu made the statement in a Podcast interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Twitter space, where Seun Asked him that what will he say about his principal, Atiku Abubakar who does not have the spread, 25 percent across the two-thirds states of the federation in the last presidential election that is required by law.

Dele Momodu responded that he is sure that Seun is aware that Atiku Abubakar is claiming 21 states in court. He said his attitude towards that is that even though people are using semantics to confuse themselves, but

“25 per cent in FCT is compulsory, so neither Atiku nor Tinubu had that, so on that basis, it means that they fell short of the requirement. You can see how objective I am now. So that’s for me the first issue.”

He said the other things are issues raised against Tinubu. He said he is not a lawyer and he is not confident to speak on it, so it is for the court to speak on it.

“So I believe on the basis of that, the election is inconclusive. That’s my believe, that they should go for rerun, if I may judge. That’s how I will look at it.”
