The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, said in an interview that there is no law which states that the federal capital territory belongs to any religion or an area.

The ex governor of Rivers state when asked in an interview, “You are a Christian and the first southerner to become the minister of the FCT, where does this put you”? Wike responded by saying that the issue of Religion and Region are the problem in Nigeria that needs to be solved.

The minister said that the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is trying to carry the whole country along by appointing cabinet members from different Region of the country for proper representation.

The minister stated that what the administration is going to do is not just for Christians or Southerners but for the entire country.

Wike stated that he remains a PDP chieftain regardless of working for the APC government. “I need to support the president because he means well for the country,” he stated.
