Most politicians are incurable optimists, even from ground zero, they want to make 100%- Omisore

During an interview with Channels Television, Sen. Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary of the APC, discussed the deceptive tactics employed by certain individuals to mislead their followers. He specifically highlighted the case of the Labour Party, which came in third in the 2023 general election but is now seeking a rerun. Sen. Omisore emphasized that the party cannot unilaterally determine the outcome of a court judgment unless it is in their favour.

Regarding the statement made by Barrister Julius Abure, where he urged the APC to prepare for a rerun, Sen. Omisore expressed his lack of awareness about it. He mentioned that there are three chairmanships within the party, and he does not know which individual might have made such a statement.

Sen. Omisore raised a question in response to the statement, asking, “Which of the parties? Which of the three chairmen?” He explained that the Labour Party has two to three chairmen, and he is unaware of the specific source of the statement. He further criticized the Labour Party for deceiving its followers, pointing out that they have only been to one court, and yet they assume there will be a rerun. He referred to their actions as an attempt to judge the tribunal and dismissed them as mere jokers.

Expanding on his thoughts, Sen. Omisore remarked that most politicians possess an unshakable optimism, always striving for complete success even when starting from scratch. He regarded the concerns raised by the Labour Party as wishful thinking and reiterated his view that they are simply jokers.

“Most politicians are incurable optimists.” Even from ground zero, they want to make 100%. Those are just wishful concerns by the Labour Party, as far as I’m concerned; they’re jokers.
