Emefiele should list names of those who shared money under Buhari and be made to return them- Sani

A former member of the Nigerian Senate and a human rights activist, Senator Shehu Sani has proposed a straightforward solution to a lingering issue with the value of the Nigerian naira, stating that the key to making progress is for the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele to name the individuals of who shared funds during the previous administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Senator made the assertion through his Twitter post on Tuesday.

Senator Sani insists that these individuals should be held accountable and required to return the funds to the federal government. He expressed his belief that resorting to long grammar is a waste of time, advocating for a more direct approach to resolving the matter.

Senator Sani’s tweet is coming following the meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the acting CBN Governor, Folashodun Sonubi yesterday at the state house.

According to the acting CBN Governor, at the meeting, the duo discussed the way forward as to stabilizing the Nigerian currency and how to improve the liquidity in the market.

Senator Sani wrote, “The Solution to the problem is simply for the ex CBN Governor to list the names of all those who were shared money under the Buhari administration, and be made to cough out every cents back to the Government;then we can make progress. All this “long grammar” is a waste of time.”
