The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, which met in Umuahia, Abia State on Tuesday, affirmed the election victory of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu. In its verdict, the tribunal’s three-man panel denied the case filed by the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate, Frank Chinasa, seeking to overturn Kalu’s election victory. The panel’s three judges dismissed Chinasa’s plea for lack of merit in a unanimous decision read by the tribunal’s chairman, Justice Samson Gang.
