There're No Grounds For Appeal, Save Your Resources, Advise Your Supporters- Bello Tells Atiku & Obi

In the wake of the judgment delivered by the five-man panel of Appeal Court Justices dismissing petitions filed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party’s Peter Gregory Obi at the just-concluded Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT), Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has called on both opposition candidates not to bother seeking redress at the Supreme Court.

According to a report posted by Channels TV on it’s verified Twitter handle, Bello, who is also a prominent chieftain of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was addressing State House Correspondents on Thursday, September 7, when he argued that the flawless nature of the judgment handed down by the Justices at the tribunal shows that there are no grounds for Obi and Atiku to approach the Supreme Court with the hope of upturning the ruling.

He then went on to urge both candidates to save their resources by jettisoning any idea to appeal the judgment at the apex court, adding that they should instead focus on advising their supporters to accept defeat in good faith.

He said; “As far as I am concerned, I don’t think there’s any ground for appeal. I would rather appeal to them that they should drop any appeal going to the higher court and then save resources, save the trouble, advise their supporters, admonish them that they should accept yesterday’s judgement.”
