Ministerial list: ' Reactions on social media made us withdraw Shetty Maryam '- APC Ganduje

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has revealed that the reactions of people on social media fueled the withdrawal of Dr. Shetty Maryam form the ministerial list of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.
He made this known of recent while noting that though the President had already nominated her for the ministerial position, him alongside some concerned stakeholders from Kano State where she hails from could not vouch for her competency but the outcry on social media led to the withdrawal.
He said: ‘ In the selection of ministerial nominees, the president has people that are giving him advice across States and he has the power to nominate whoever he like and make consultations on the persons he had chosen to serve in his cabinet from the people of that particular state. We just saw Mrs. Shetty’s name like any other Nigerian; we are followers of the president but we did not challenge the choice of Ms Shetty because we did not know much about her personality and capabilities to deliver on the job. But the problem started when her social media post started to cause a stir. People on social media started challenging her personality in representing the people of Kano and her capability for the job. This is how the issue came around. I am not involved in it, the president was disturbed about it and he later contacted me and asked whether I nominated her but I said no ‘.
