"It is self defeating to claim you are making a point by impoverishing yourself -Gov. Mbah

During a live broadcast captured by Channels Television, Governor Mbah of Enugu State addressed the sit-at-home orders issued by Simon Ekpa, a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The governor cautioned the people against being deceived by the notion that these orders were aimed at making a point. He emphasized that trying to assert a political agenda by impoverishing their own people would ultimately be self-defeating.

Governor Mbah highlighted the detrimental impact of the sit-at-home orders on the state’s revenue and economy. He stressed that hurting one’s own people in an attempt to fight for a cause was not a productive approach. Instead, the governor urged South Easterners to seek dialogue and constructive engagement to address any grievances.

The governor emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration for the overall progress and development of the region. He urged the people not to be swayed by divisive ideologies that could hinder their own prosperity. Governor Mbah encouraged South Easterners to focus on building a strong and vibrant community within the larger Nigerian nation.

By speaking out against the sit-at-home orders, Governor Mbah aimed to highlight the negative consequences and encourage South Easterners to reconsider their participation. He emphasized the need for peaceful and inclusive discussions to address grievances while prioritizing the welfare and progress of the people.

Governor Mbah’s call for unity and dialogue serves as a reminder of the importance of building a prosperous future for all citizens, free from self-inflicted economic hardships.
