Imo Monarch Loses N85 Million As Gunmen Attack Palace

According to reports from vanguard news, Eze Ezekiel Nwokedi, the Eze-elect of the Okwuru Orsu Ihitteukwu Community in Imo State’s Orsu council area, has lost almost 85 million Naira as a result of gunmen attacking his palace over the weekend.

Nwokedi, who also serves as the chairman of the eminent socio-cultural group Odimma Orsu movement, which has been leading the peace movement in the devastated area, told reporters that the criminals first plundered his possessions before setting his home on fire.

“The thugs broke into my home, stole valuable personal items worth millions of naira, and burned it on fire.” I’ve lost possessions valued at about N85 million.

“The Odimma Orsu Initiative, of which I am the chairman, has been exerting every effort humanly possible to eradicate the insecurity in our council, which for the past two years and nine months has led to the continuous murder of innocent people, the burning down of people’s homes, and the looting of government and public assets by the local hoodlums.”

“I’m at my wits’ end. My most tragic moment is right now. I can’t even speak. I just request action from the Imo State Administration and the local security forces. There is absolutely no justification for those who committed the arson to set my home on fire. The monarch was cited by the Daily Sun as stating, “We have been living like deathtraps in our own communities, nobody goes home, everything is desolate.”
