'Atiku Divided PDP's Votes, All The Votes LP Garnered Were From The Party's Stronghold' -Okechukwu

According to Daily Post, Osita Okechukwu, a Founding Member of the ruling party, has alleged that former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar divided the PDP votes, allowing the Labour Party to secure votes from the party’s traditional strongholds in previous Nigerian elections. He made this claim while speaking to journalists after the conclusion of the PEPT judgment in Abuja.

Okechukwu argued that Atiku had been misled by those in his camp into believing that Northerners would vote for him solely based on ethnicity. He asserted that Atiku and his associates had effectively undermined the PDP’s chances of retaining power.

He stated, “Atiku divided the PDP’s votes irreparably. All the votes garnered by the Labour Party came from the PDP’s strongholds, except for those votes kept by the former vice president, who naively assumed that Northern voters would act like children in a dormitory waiting for instructions on how to vote.”
