Group insists Gov Akeredolu Cannot Work in Oyo

The Ondo Solidarity Forum (OSF) in Ondo State has strongly criticized the recent relocation of governance from Akure to Ibadan, enabling Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to return to office while he is still recovering from an ailment.

According to the Nation paper, OSF, through its acting chairman, Honorable Femi Ogunleye, and publicity secretary, Prince Kayode Fasua, described this move as a show of shame and a manipulation by influential individuals within the state.

While the group wishes Governor Akeredolu a speedy recovery, they question the urgency of his return to office. They emphasize that the function of the legs is to walk, not the head. Governor Akeredolu has returned to Nigeria and is resting in his Ibadan residence, so there is no need to rush his resumption of office.

OSF criticizes the spectacle of cabinet members, legislative members, and aides being transported from Akure to Ibadan in a convoy of vehicles to proclaim his resumption as governor.

They argue that if the governor were truly fit, he would have returned to Akure and resumed his duties there.

The group expresses concern about a potential power shift to a cabal within the state, suggesting that influential individuals are manipulating the situation to their advantage. They believe that this move undermines democracy and the rightful governance of the state.

They call for a more transparent and democratic approach to governance during the governor’s recovery.
