Frank Tietie added that the arrest of Godwin Emefiele is not the best way to run a democratic state. He revealed that president Bola Tinubu was a democratic leader before he became president and should follow the legal way of operating so as to ensure an efficient government. He, however, commended the effort of the judiciary for ordering the DSS to either release Emefiele or charge him to court.

According to him, “And let me tell you this, and it worries me; I have said it now again, for those of us who believe that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a progressive, he comes from a progressive background, he was once a pro-democracy fighter. This is the least to expect from him: that under his direct supervision, under the DSS’s remit, a suspended CBN governor will be held in incarceration in dangerous and uncertain circumstances, with the general perception that he’s being punished because you don’t like him or because you have some grudges with him. That’s not how to run a democratic state. ”
