Edo State Govt Explains Why Philip Shaibu Was Stopped From Greeting Governor Obaseki At The Church

The Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare, clarified that the security personnel who prevented Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu from greeting Governor Godwin Obaseki at a church was merely executing his duties.

According to Nehikhare, Governor Godwin Obaseki was likely unaware of the situation when Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu was denied the opportunity to greet him during the church event. Nehikhare added that a majority of individuals within the Edo State government were unaware of Philip Shaibu’s return to town, as he had been on vacation for several weeks.

Nehikhare explained that Philip Shaibu showed up at the church without prior notice to the governor about his presence and intentions to attend the church event. Nehikhare emphasized that if Philip Shaibu intended to greet the governor, he has the knowledge of the governor’s residence and contact details.
