How Wike Helped APC, Tinubu To Win In Rivers – Tony Okocha

Former Rivers State Government Chief of Staff Tony Okocha stated ex-Governor Nyesom Wike enabled the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to win the state in the previous presidential election. He claimed Wike gave massive material and financial support to the election in order for Tinubu to win.

Okocha told journalists in Abuja that without Wike’s help, Obi may have swept the state. “My point is that neither my former boss, ex-Governor Rotimi Amaechi and his group, nor Sen. Magnus Abe and his group worked for Tinubu,” he stated. “What helped us in Rivers State was the PDP’s stupidity.” The spin doctor, Nyesom Wike, the then-Governor of my state, is at the center of it all.

“Rivers State has been a safe haven for the PDP since its inception in 1998.” It has won two elections in a row. Even while we were in power, the PDP defeated us (in Rivers). Wike sent directives to his PDP family because they did not have a candidate to vote for. ‘Work with APC,’ and they were coming to work with me because I was the APC’s arrowhead. “Abe had left for the SDP, and Amaechi was not interested.” Wike, I believe, took care of the election bills. He was the one who had to paid the piper.

“Without Wike’s massive material and financial support, Peter Obi could have swept Rivers State.” Even relocating Wike to Rivers State reduces and short-circuits his influence. If the G-5 governors had remained loyal to the PDP, the party would have triumphed.” On the desire for Wike to be given a ministerial position in Rivers, he stated that numerous APC leaders have been asking with President Bola Tinubu to include the ex-Governor in his cabinet. “If Wike, who was in the PDP, could support APC to win, why is it that APC, having won, cannot also recompense the man who helped us win?” he stated.
