About The N70 Billion Allocated To The National Assembly, We Don’t Have Access To It —Simon Mwadkwon

In an interview with Arise , Simon Mwadkwon, the Senate Minority Leader, disclosed that the national assembly is currently in an uninhabitable condition.

He clarified that the N70 billion allocated to the house will not be used for their own needs, but rather for the development of the national assembly surroundings.

Mwadkwon emphasized the necessity for furniture, computers, and vehicles to aid in their duties. He also mentioned the N500 billion budget allocated for mitigating the effects of subsidy removal, noting that it is derived from the 2022 budget.

This means that certain items originally included in the 2022 budget were reallocated to support this fund, which is intended to benefit the citizens of Nigeria.

Rephrasing his words, “Regarding the N70 billion allocated to the national assembly, it should be noted that we do not have access to that money, regardless of whether I personally benefit from it or not.

Upon visiting the national assembly, including both the senate and the house of representatives, it becomes evident that the working conditions there are extremely inhospitable.”
