The former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who was inaugurated as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has told the people of the city that many of their buildings will be destroyed.

According to the former Governor, those who are distorting the master plan of Abuja and built houses where they were not permitted to do so will witness the destruction of their properties. He stressed that he would carry out the destruction no matter the status of the house owners in society.

Speaking further, he said those who have taken over the green areas should know that their buildings will not be spared from imminent destruction.

According to Channels TV, he said: ” All those people who are distorting the master plan of Abuja, too bad. Too bad. If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down. Be you minister of anywhere, be an ambassador; if you know you have developed where you are not supposed to develop, your house must go down. Those who have taken over the green areas to build, sorry. “

Also, he warned that lands across the capital city that have not been developed for a long period of time would be re- allocated to other residents that show willingness to make use of the lands within a stipulated time.

” All these people who are doing land racketing, let me tell you, that period of land racketing is over. Those the government has given C of O allocated lands to them, they refuse to develop, and they are becoming land speculators; the land is gone. I’ m going to revoke them, ” Wike said.
