Woman Tortures 11-year-old Maid To Death In Jos

Mrs. Nneamaka Nwachuku has been placed on remand by Justice B. Bassi of High Court 12 in Jos, Plateau State after she is accused of killing her 11-year-old housekeeper Margret Joshua through torture.

On November 11, 2022, Nwachukwu allegedly tortured Late Margret to death by pouring boiling water on her body; this action caused Late Margret to pass away.

“Statement of Offence Count II: Cruelty to Person, Contrary to Section 206 and punishable under Section 206 (B) of the Plateau State Penal Code Law 2017,”

“Statement of Offence Count III: Voluntary Causing Hurt or Grievous Hurt by Dangerous Means, Contrary to and punishable under Section 222 (1) of the Plateau State Penal Code Law, 2017,” the charges added.

A three-count charge in a lawsuit with the charge number PLD/J287/2022 between the Plateau State Command Commissioner of Police (the Complainant) and Nneamaka Nwachukwu (the Defendant) included a statement of offense count I, which was culpable homicide punishable by death, contrary to Sections 188(A) and (B), and punishable under Section 189 of the Plateau State Penal Code Law, 2017.

The accused was remanded in the Jos Correctional Center after entering a plea of not guilty, and the judge approved the prosecution’s oral request.

The case was continued until January 19, 2023, so that the prosecution may present its evidence.
