Wizkid Issues Apology To Ghanaian Fans For Missing Concert

By G9ija

Afrobeat Star, Wizkid, has apologized to his Ghanaian fans for canceling his eagerly anticipated performance in Accra, Ghana.

The concert, which would feature Wizkid as the headlining act, was reportedly scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on December 10, 2022 but he failed to show up.

Social media users reacted negatively to Wizkid’s failure to show up at the venue. Many of his disgruntled Ghanaian fans criticized him for the situation.

The Afrobeat sensation has nonetheless apologized to all of his disappointed followers on his verified Twitter account.

He stated that it was never his desire to disappoint his Ghanaian supporters and that the choice to skip the concert was made with the fans’ best interests in mind.

He attributed his inability to attend the concert primarily to production and safety issues.

The statement reads in part, “Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart, first and foremost I wanna apologise to all my fans! Y’all know I would never do anything without a serious reasoning behind it.

“My brand is something I don’t joke with! I sincerely apologise to everyone who made the effort to come out for me last night. I was charged up, looking forward to doing this show. However, please understand that every decision I made co-sided with honouring my fans, and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right thing to do and I had to.

“Unfortunately, up until the day of this show, there continued to be safety and production issues that prevented me from putting on a high-quality show that my fans deserve.”

The performer added that the concert’s new date and other information would be made public shortly.
