Wike Dares PDP, Reveals Why He Cannot Be Suspended From Party

The minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has challenged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, daring them to take action against him through suspension or disciplinary measures.

The former governor of Rivers State, who spoke on Wednesday, August 30, exclusively on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, said he has not seen the party chieftain who will suspend or expel him from the party.

Wike also said he does not regret his decision to join the administration of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC stressing that no member of the PDP can discipline him over anti-party activities.

The ex-governor said he should instead discipline the PDP for going against the rotation agreement in the PDP’s constitution.

“Who will discipline me? I should be the one calling for the discipline of these people who violated the party’s constitution, in the way that the party supported rotation.

“Who will suspend me? I want to dare anybody,” he said.

Wike maintained that he obtained the permission of the PDP before accepting the APC ministerial appointment.

The new FCT minister added that he specifically wrote the PDP leadership at the South-South zonal and Rivers State levels, which in turn asked him to accept the ministerial appointment.
