Tribunal: Assuming PDP Has A Chance In Court, It'll Not Change My Position' -Nyesom Wike

Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister for the FCT, reaffirmed that even if the PDP were to succeed in the Presidential Election Tribunal Court, his stance on the matter would remain unchanged.

Wike made this assertion during an interview in a video (42:03) on Channels Television’s Politics Today program, where Seun Okinbaloye raised the point that some individuals believe that if internal issues had not caused divisions within the party and they had rallied behind Atiku Abubakar as the Presidential candidate, they might have had a better chance. Additionally, there is still a possibility that the PDP may find success in court.

Nyesom Wike responded with conviction, “You’re making an assumption, but even if the PDP were to succeed in court, it wouldn’t alter my commitment to principles of equity, fairness, and justice. My stance remains steadfast. As previously stated, we firmly believed that the North held the presidency for eight years, and therefore, the South should have its turn. This position remains consistent and unaltered. Thus, irrespective of the outcome, my perspective stands. I’ve always advocated that no one should assert their importance to the exclusion of others. It’s my belief that what is right should always be upheld.”
