We Were Told That The Particular Evidences Wasn't Enough To Invalidate The Election – Tanko Yunusa

A member to the Labour Party (LP), Tanko Yunusa has reacted to the final judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), saying that despite what happened during the 2023 Presidential election, the Tribunal still nullified their petition. Mr. Tanko Yunusa added that the Tribunal did not do justice to their petition after a the evidence they submitted to the court, including videos of where voters where intimidated.

Mr. Tanko made the statement during an interview with Channels Television, when he was asked on his opinion concerning the reactions and judgment from the tribunal after the court admitted everything that happened during the Presidential election. While speaking he said, the court saw the proof of how voters were intimidated and ballot boxes were snatched but they never look into it. Rather they were told that the particular evidence they presented were not enough to invalidate the election.

“We saw proof that our voters were intimidated, ballot boxes were snatched, ethnic profiling took place, and that particular issue was presented in that court for the Nigerian people to see. But yet, we were told that particular evidence is not enough; it’s not enough to invalidate the election”.
