"We Told Some Ministerial Nominees To Take A Bow & Leave Because Of Their Antecedents" -Sen Bamidele

Before the commencement of screening for the ministerial nominees today, senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele told the senate president that there is a need for the public to understand why some screened nominees were simply asked to take a bow and leave.

Senator Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele said, “distinguished leader of the senate, I think the public needs to know some things about this screening process. We simply told some ministerial nominees to take a bow and leave because of their antecedents.”

Speaking further, senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele said, “their antecedents are well established and documented. When we asked them to take a bow, it is because we don’t want to ask them questions whose answers we all know. It will be a waste of time if we start asking them such questions.”

Lastly, senator Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele said, “I think the public needs to be aware that the constitution is what states the qualification or the eligiblity to be appointed a minister. The essence of confirmation in this chamber is for the nominees to appear and tell Nigerians who they are. For us in the senate, we are to go back and look at details of their CV, resume and consider if there is any petition against the nominee.”
