Senator Shehu has sparked a flurry of hilarious reactions to his photo tweet depicting the picture of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) even as its members congratulate the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on his appointment as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) while still having their eyes on the judiciary.
Wike, who is officially still a member of the PDP, had worked against the party’s candidate in the February 25 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, following a disagreement after Atiku beat him to the ticket. He ensured that Tinubu, the then-candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election in Rivers State.
The PDP is contesting Tinubu’s victory at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT). The opposition launched the #AllEyesOnTheJudiciary campaign to keep the tribunal judges on their toes to ensure that justice is done in the case.
But surprisingly, the PDP which has at different times reported mulled the idea of expelling Wike from its fold, has now congratulated the former Minister of State for Education on his new appointment. This background informed the senator’s tweet which depicts a rather very confused.
Fellow Nigerians on Twitter did not only find the picture very amusing, but they also said it indeed aptly captured the state of the PDP at the moment.
