Tribunal:'The Court Said That The Evidence That We Submitted Were Manipulated By Us' – Yunusa Tanko

Yunusa Tanko, the Spokesperson of the Obi/Datti Campaign Council, has voiced serious concerns about the recent developments in the electoral tribunal. In an interview with Channels TV, Tanko alleged that the Tribunal judges have made a startling claim – that the evidence submitted by the Labour Party was tampered with. He vehemently argued against the notion that the Labour Party failed to present evidence demonstrating electoral irregularities.

According to Tanko, the Labour Party did indeed submit compelling evidence illustrating how election results were not uploaded to the IReV (Independent Results Viewing) platform, as originally promised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He even went so far as to assert that their star witness, a reporter who had covered the event, attested to this evidence in court.

However, the shocking twist came when the Tribunal allegedly discredited their evidence, accusing them of manipulation. Tanko expressed his incredulity at this development, emphasizing that he himself was the star witness and was absolutely confident in the integrity of the evidence they had presented.

He further contended that the IReV’s role in the case was downplayed by the Court, despite their evidence indicating a significant lapse in the promised transmission of election results. The tribunal’s dismissal of this critical aspect has left Tanko and the Obi/Datti Campaign Council bewildered and eager to challenge these assertions in their pursuit of electoral justice.
