Tribunal verdict on poll: Tinubu, Obi confident

The Presidency last night expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election will be upheld tomorrow by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).

Also yesterday, Peter Obi, candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 presidential election expressed optimism that with the evidence they brought before the court, he would upturn the results declared by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

After the tribunal stated that judgement will be rendered tomorrow, the President and the challenger took their positions.

“The Court of Appeal wishes to inform the general public that judgement in the petitions before the Presidential Election Petition Court will be delivered on Wednesday, September 6, 2023,” according to the tribunal’s announcement, which was signed by Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal Umar Bangari.

The public can watch these decisions live on television because to interested television stations’ efforts to promote transparency and openness. According to The Nation.

“Only accredited visitors will be permitted on the court’s grounds. Only authorised personnel, such as solicitors and political party officials, will be allowed entry into the courtroom.

The public is encouraged to watch proceedings on television if they are interested.

Tinubu won the election with 8,794,726 votes, defeating Atiku with 6,984,520 and Obi with 6,101,533.
