If Obaseki Seems To Be Accusing Shaibu Of Disloyalty, Wasn't He Also Disloyal To Oshiomhole? – Sumner Sambo

Arise TV’s politics editor, Sumner Sambo, has characterized the dispute between Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, as a matter of loyalty. Sambo noted that if the Governor accuses his deputy of disloyalty due to an ambition to succeed him, it raises questions about Obaseki’s own loyalty to his former political mentor, Adams Oshiomhole, who facilitated his rise to power.

In his commentary on Arise TV, Sambo remarked, “This situation revolves around the test of loyalty. Governor Obaseki appears to be alleging that Philip Shaibu lacks loyalty, aiming to succeed him prematurely and bypassing the process of selecting a successor. But then, one could ask, wasn’t Governor Obaseki also disloyal to Adams Oshiomhole, who facilitated his rise to power?

He added, “Hence, the core issue here is about loyalty and disloyalty. To quote former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, may your loyalty never face such a test.”
