Tinubu Revokes Maryam Shetty’s Appointment, Names Keyamo, Mahmoud.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the ministerial nomination of Maryam Shetty from Kano and replaced her with Dr Mairiga Mahmud.

The president also nominated the former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo as minister.

Tinubu announced this is a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and read during plenary on Friday.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reacted to the emergence of ex-Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje and Senator Bashir as chairman and secretary of the All Progressives Party (APC).

In a statement on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, after APC’s national executive meeting, Tinubu urged the elected leaders to promote unity, peace, and love among all members of the party.

He said: “You are the makers and drivers of the party. When we have all passengers inside the bus, the driver must not fall asleep. The brake must also work well. Party loyalty must exist”.

Tinubu Writes Senate On Plan To Deploy Troops To Niger Republic.

President Bola Tinubu has informed the National Assembly about ECOWAS proposed military action and other sanctions against coupists in Niger Republic.

He stated this in an official communication addressed to the Senate and read at plenary by President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

Niger Republic’s ambassador to France, Aichatou Boulama Kane, on Friday, insisted she was still in her post despite the coup in the West African country, saying she remained loyal to detained President Mohamed Bazoum.

Kane, who has been in her job since July 2022, said she rejected as “null and void” an order by the coup leaders to end her mandate as well as those of the Niger ambassadors to Nigeria, Togo and the United States.
