Oshiomhole to Shaibu: APC not a rehabilitation center for distressed politicians

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the party is not a rehabilitating centre for distressed politicians.

Premium Times report that, Oshiomhole who’s now the Senator representing Edo north at the national assembly, stated this on Thursday in Benin while commenting on the allegation made by the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, that his deputy, Philip Shaibu’s court case against him was a prelude to his defection the the APC.

He added that he wanted Edo to be run in peace and harmony and urged the troubled deputy governor to respect and be loyal to his boss.

He declared: “I don’t know how courts make decisions based on suspicion. I heard about someone going to court to protest about being suspected of being impeached. However, I want to clarify that the APC is not a rehabilitation facility in case someone wants to rush there. I’ll tell you that for nothing.

“We in the APC are content with how things are right now; we enjoy being in opposition, and we’re not about to accept individuals who are coming because they missed out. I want to clarify that APC does not have an IDP camp.

“Therefore, my recommendation is that those who are experiencing difficulties learn how to respect their superiors. I’ve always told folks to be loyal to everyone you work with.

Premium Times report that, Regardless of party differences, he continued, “I want Edo to be governed in peace and harmony because the Federal Republic of Nigeria is the supraparty to which we all belong, and the rate at which political parties camp, decamp, and recamp demonstrates that Nigeria is the only constant, not political parties.

“I was present, but I couldn’t help my deputy replace me, and my deputy never brought me to court. And if there are some who consistently profit from catastrophes, I cannot support them.

It would be nice if only my clan produced the governor in my local government, but I know that Nigeria doesn’t work that way. There are some sentiments that people think the thing should go round at this level of our development, regardless of what anyone will say.
