The Labour Party (LP) has replied a recent comment credited to President Bola Tinubu, where he reportedly warned the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) that sacking him from office for not attaining 25 percent votes in the FCT could lead to anarchy.

The opposition party in a statement by its acting National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, told President Tinubu that “if there were no absurdity, chaos, and anarchy when they (APC) forced their way into power, Nigeria will still witness peace when they are eventually evicted from power.”

LP also condemned the leak of the president’s final written address against its petition to the media, insisting that the address to the tribunal was meant to be in the exclusive custody of the court.

Federal Government owned NNPC Limited on Tuesday morning jerked up its petrol pump price to N617 per litre from N537 in Abuja.

The national oil company has not given any reason for the latest price increase following the deregulation of the downstream sector of the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

With NNPC Limited taking the lead, most marketers which opened earlier dispensing at the old hurriedly shut their stations to adjust their pumps to the new price.

President Bola Tinubu had on May 29, during his inauguration speech said there was no budget to continue the payment of subsidies on petrol. The pronouncements led to the hike in petrol price from N195 per litre to N537.
