Shehu Sani Predicts What May Happen Between Tinubu And Wike As Ex Gov Resumes FCT Ministerial Post

An influential socio-political activist, Shehu Sani on Tuesday, August 22, said the new minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has the capacity to deliver in his new role.

The former Kaduna federal lawmaker, however, noted that the immediate past governor of Rivers state could also create problems for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sani advised Wike to “learn to walk in a minefield or be blown by it”.

He wrote on his verified Twitter handle: “The capacity and competence of the new FCT minister (referring to Wike) to deliver is without doubt.

“The possibility of getting himself and the President into serious political trouble by his utterances or actions is also without doubt. He will have to learn to walk in a minefield or be blown by it.”

Recall that this is not the first time that Wike will be a minister. Between July 2011 and December 2014, he was minister of state for education.

The Punch had reported how Wike left tongues wagging shortly after he assumed office as FCT minister.

Wike, at the resumption of office, vowed to return the FCT to its original masterplan and does not in any way plan to witchhunt anybody.

The former Rivers State Governor said land allottees who have been given Certificates of Occupancy but failed to develop would also lose their lands to give way to those ready to build.

Wike, while responding to questions about whether his threatened demolition will be used as a form of vendetta against his enemies, said, “Say the truth, you don’t like those who step on toes. I will step on my toes”

Wike also promised to end open grazing in the city, stressing he would consult with the herders to find a last solution to open grazing.

The new minister also vowed to crack down on illegal markets in the FCT.
